The Chamber is an interest-based, independent, professional, business-expert association of companies, entrepreneurs and other organisations performing activities on the territories of the following municipalities: Užice, Požega, Arilje, Ivanjica, Priboj, Prijepolje, Nova Varoš, Bajina Bašta, Kosjerić and Čajetina and which are connected by mutual business interests, so that, as a part of the unique system of connecting economic entities, it participates in accomplishing and ensuring mutual interests that are important for the economy in Republic of Serbia.
The Chamber's activities are:
- rendering and organising expert assistance for its members for the sake of improvement and promotion of their business operations,
- studying issues related to economic branches present in the Chamber, monitoring phenomena in economic life and assessment of their effect on the economy on the territory of the Chamber,
- promoting and establishing economic cooperation with foreign countries, organising economic and tourist information advertising, fairs, economic fairs and other promotional activities for the needs of its members,
- representing the economy from the territory of the Chamber both in the country and abroad and connecting it to the international goods and services exchange in a manner that will facilitate the access of its members to the world market,
- rendering timely and high-quality information to its members and other interested persons for the purpose of finding potential partners and their mutual connecting,
- developing information system in the Chamber,
- inciting research in the science-technology filed,
- promoting entrepreneurship and management and monitoring and transferring international experiences from the territories of other Chambers in this field and particularly in the quality management field,
- business connecting and informing the other members of the Chamber,
- giving proposals to the state and local management authorities related to development and introduction of various instruments for the protection of local economy,
- giving initiative about anti-dumping with reference to the unfair behaviour of foreign producers at the local market within the Chamber territory,
- assisting the members of the Chamber regarding financing and lending money to production in cooperation with commercial banks,
- cherishing good business customs and business ethics,
- organising seminars, specialised courses for specialisation and training of personnel employed in economy and issuing appropriate certificates of the Chamber,
- assisting in founding new enterprises and restructuring the existing ones,
- preparing and promoting type contracts between companies,
- keeping the register of members and register of general associations of entrepreneurs in the Chamber and issuing certificates with the information from the register,
- issuing appropriate certificates, documents and papers related to the business operations of the members of the Chamber in line with the law and transferred authority,
- other activities of interest for its members.
The Regional Chamber of Commerce in Užice, as an interest economic association, represents a place for gathering and discussion, harmonisation of interests and activities of the enterprises, establishing mutual standpoints, exchange of experience and establishing mutual business connections.
The Chamber assists the companies in promoting marketing, linking science and economy, modernising the knowledge of personnel and creating development strategies and improving the infrastructure.
The Chamber closely cooperates with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and other regional chamber of commerce, Zlatibor district, municipalities, republic ministries and representatives of foreign chambers of commerce in our country, scientific-research institutions and universities.
The activities of the Chamber and functioning of the entire system of the Chamber are enabled by operation of the Chamber’ Team of Experts.
The bodies of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Uzice are: Chamber's Assembly, Managing Board, Supervisory Board and the President of the Chamber.
Chamber's Assembly is the highest managing body of the Chamber which consists of 55 members. The Assembly is responsible for the development of its by-laws, Chamber's business plan and budget, the annual report, taxation matters and policies, manner and deadlines for payments, annual review of activities of Chamber's bodies, general acts that establish the composition and organisation of the Court of Honours, regulations on data issuing and solvency certificates, regulations on keeping the register of members, criteria, manner and procedure for elections in the Chamber’s Assembly, it adopts the Rules of Procedure for its operation, makes decisions related to amortization of real estate of the Chamber, annual report on the operation of the Chamber and its bodies, decisions on scheduling and conducting elections within 60 days before the mandate expiration of the Chamber’s bodies, it elects and acquits the president and vice president of the Chamber’s Assembly, establishes standpoints and further operating guides of the Chamber’s bodies in the field of economic development and economic system and it makes decisions on other important issues and carries out other activities in line with the law.
Managing Board consists of 23 members who are elected by the Assembly from the members of the Chamber at the proposal of the president of the Chamber in the manner that the composition of the Managing Board ensures presence of all economic activities, i.e. branches, in proportion to their income share as well as appropriate territorial presence.
Supervisory Board is a body of Chamber that controls how bylaws, regulations and general documents of the Chamber are implemented, financial transactions of the Chamber and its Team of Experts.
Court of Honour has competence over development and protection of good business practice among Chamber's members. It is formed in the Chamber as an independent body which delivers actions in line with the Law on Chambers of Commerce.
The Chamber's activities are mainly run through associations, committees, groups, centres, councils, communities and other forms of organisations.
Association is an elementary form of organisation and operation of the linked members of the Chamber in terms of their functions and activity fields with the purpose to accomplish mutual interests in particular branches of economy. The main function of an association is monitoring and analysis of economic trends in a particular sector of economy and proposing actions for improving operating conditions and business operations of its members. The operating body of an association is the committee of the association which considers all issues of mutual interest for all members of the Chamber belonging to a particular association.
Committee is a special form of organisation and operation established for the purpose of putting forward, harmonising and giving proposals to the bodies of the Chamber with regard to the issues of mutual interest of all members of the Chamber. Committees work on preparing, adopting and monitoring macroeconomic policy implementation, they discuss and give opinions on bill drafts and proposals and other regulations and actions in the field of economic system and economic policy, they monitor economic trends and analyse the impact of actions of the current economic policy on them and suggest their amendments, establishing and developing economic relations with foreign countries and cooperation with international organisations, national Chambers, etc.
Centres in the Chamber are established to render expert assistance and particular business services to the members of the Chamber and third parties.
Councils may be established as expert-consultant bodies of the Managing Board of the Chamber.
